About Sabrina
I'm Sabrina Layden, founder of Write Time Grants. I was born in Calgary, raised in Southern Saskatchewan, and eventually found my way back to Calgary, where WTG is now based.
My involvement in the nonprofit world began in 1999, giving me the opportunity to experience community organizations from different perspectives over the years. I've seen firsthand how often important work falls to a small number of people—and how quickly funding research, applications, deadlines and documentation can compete with the work organizations exist to do.
Write Time Grants grew from that understanding.
My work today focuses on funding research, grant development, corporate sponsorships and building practical funding systems and materials. My approach is straightforward: understand what's already working, identify where additional capacity would genuinely help, and provide support around those needs.

Why Organizations Work With Write Time Grants
You pay for the help you need, not everything I can do.
Every WTG engagement begins by understanding the organization first—what you're doing, where you're going, how your work is currently funded, who manages that work internally, and what's already working well.
From there, we identify genuine gaps in capacity, systems or support.
If your corporate sponsorship program is already working well, I won't recommend corporate sponsorship services. If your funding calendar is doing exactly what you need it to do, I won't rebuild it.
WTG recommendations are based on the support your organization actually needs—not on fitting your organization into a predetermined package.

Write Time Grants was founded on a simple belief: successful funding takes more than a well-written application.
Nonprofit leaders are balancing programs, staff, community relationships, administration and growing demands on limited resources. Funding work adds another layer—researching opportunities, managing deadlines, preparing applications, maintaining funding materials and building relationships.
WTG works with Canadian nonprofits and Indigenous organizations to make that work more strategic, organized and manageable.
My role may include funding research, grant development, corporate sponsorship support, funding systems, reusable materials or ongoing funding capacity. What that looks like depends on the organization.
Because the goal isn't to sell every service WTG offers. It's to identify where support would actually help.
